The Power of Social Media Jobs and Metrics

As years go on, the internet and social platforms are growing as time continues. There have always been “icons” or “role models” that the public eye looked up to or sometimes even envied, but now there are certain jobs that involve social media that can pay a great salary. For example, some jobs include content creating, community managing, social media coordinators, influencers, videographer, writers, editors, and more. Every one of these jobs start small and work their way up to achieve certain goals to reach its’ own personal criteria. These “goals” are known as metrics, and that includes anything that relates to the engagement of one’s work or posts.

Kendall Jenner, daughter of Caitlin Jenner (originally known as Bruce) did not need to start small to become one of the most influential women on the internet due to the fame her father had. Although Kendall was born into a wealthy and famous family she was never worried about being a content creator/influencer until she reached the potential and followers needed to do so. She started modelling in 2007 and eventually grew her audience into a world-wide crowd. Her aesthetic is categorized under beauty and design, and since her name is so popular she is a great advocate for sponderships, advertising, content creating, and influencing. Kendall gets paid 16 million dollars annually for her work with Instagram, and gets paid around $611,000 whenever she collaborates with a company.

Another example of how powerful the social media world can be is potentially making more money by posting rather than one’s real profession. Cristiano Ronaldo, known for playing soccer for Real Madrid in Spain gets paid more money from Instagram over his accomplishments with soccer. With being the Best FIFA men’s players, he averaged $34 million a year, yet averages 47.8 million dollars from Instagram for using his name and platform to push different products.

As you can see, there are different roles in the social media industry, but it takes an expert to make a good salary off of their branding. Kendall Jenner and Cristiano Ronaldo are two prime examples of how they use their platform in the right ways. They have a mass number of followers, and a good reputation behind their posts/names.
